Japan wax regeneration project with Minamata City
Kuranosuke Oishi, famous for his work in the Chushingura, was left in the care of the Hosokawa clan at the end of his life, and as a token of gratitude, he left behind a manual on how to cultivate oak trees and how to make Japan wax , which he presented to the lord of Hosokawa. As a result, Japan wax industry flourished in Minamata, which was a territory of the Hosokawa clan, and approximately 100,000 Japanese oak trees were planted there. Unfortunately, the number of oak trees has now decreased to about 15,000, and the number of oak trees that are left uncared for is increasing. However, thanks to the long-term passion of Mr. Ogata and his son, who organize the planting of oak trees, the number of oak trees has decreased to about 15,000. I'm here. Minamata City has been certified by the Cabinet Office as an SDGs Future City since 2020. Because it has suffered the most, it is trying to make use of its harsh experiences for the benefit of the world, and is contributing greatly to the creation of a pollution-free city as an environmental model city in the modernization of modern China. Our company will work together with Minamata City, Minamata citizens, and Minamata companies to create a new Minamata City by planting oak trees and developing uses for Japan wax . From a 21st century perspective, we will shift from petroleum synthetic materials to natural materials. Furthermore, we would like to work together to create a prosperous town full of beautiful oak trees with autumn leaves that coexist with nature.
