We would like to introduce the works of Group Takumi, a group of female traditional craftsmen who inherit traditional techniques and produce wonderfully creative works.

Works by the female traditional crafts group “Group Takumi”

Currently, there are approximately 210 areas in Japan designated by the government as producing traditional crafts, and there are approximately 4,600 nationally certified traditional craftsmen who have inherited each craft.
Of these, over 560 are female traditional craftspeople. Among them, there is a ``Group Takumi'' consisting of 12 female traditional craftsmen who have the aspirations to ``spread the wonders of traditional crafts to the world,'' ``please many people, and make the world a better place.'' Beauty takumi”.
We are a group of female traditional craftspeople who are not bound by traditional techniques and are striving to create new value in the production of traditional crafts.
For example, Tamae Ueda, a traditional hand-painted Yuzen craftsman in Tokyo.
We would like to introduce Mr. Ueda's hand-painted Yuzen work.
Usually, when creating patterns on cloth, she uses petroleum-based paraffin wax to create the patterns. After dyeing the cloth with dye, she removes the petroleum-based wax and dyes the waxed areas white. (Roketsu dyeing) provided Mr. Ueda with CERARICA , which is made from life wax (cera rica) produced by plants
Instead of using petroleum-based paraffin wax, Mr. Ueda replaced it with our product CERARICA coating to create Tokyo hand-painted Yuzen.
she asked Ms. Ueda about the time she used CERARICA she told us an interesting story CERARICA
When asked for details, they say, ``When drawing patterns with paraffin, the wax dyed area may turn yellow due to the heat that melts the paraffin. Also, when removing the wax after dyeing, a solvent is used, which is a health concern. "There is."
On the other hand, when using our product, they were impressed by the fact that ``the wax-dyed areas were less likely to discolor, and we were able to draw the design clearly.'' Additionally, ``When using paraffin wax, my hands become rough and sore after work, but CERARICA coating is gentle on the skin of my hands, and my hands feel smoother after work.''
I am deeply moved by their strong will and unexpectedly innovative efforts, as they continue to think for themselves and discover new techniques and charms, regardless of conventional techniques.
