What is beeswax?
Beeswax is a wax secreted by bees when they build a nest, and is an animal wax that is rare among natural waxes. It is divided into two types: ``high-acid beeswax'' secreted by European bees, and ``low-acid beeswax'' secreted by Asian bees. It is also a wax whose existence has been known since ancient times, and is used in Christian candles and canelés. In ancient Egypt, it was used in mummification due to its excellent preservation properties.
