CERARICA NODA's candelilla wax is bleached and refined using our own proprietary refining method (Patent No. 462579) to remove pigments and impurities contained in the crude wax imported from the country of origin. By adding it to lipstick, it can give the product the following characteristics:
  • "Stretches uniformly"
  • "Color stability and uniformity through pigment dispersion"
  • "Hard to fade"
  • "A natural, deep luster is achieved."
  • "It feels smooth and comfortable"
What is Candelilla Wax?
Candelilla is a natural plant wax extracted from the Japanese spurge plant. It grows in the desert regions of northern Mexico and the southern United States. Deserts grow at high altitudes, where the daily temperature difference is extreme, ranging from 45°C in summer to -20°C in winter. Candelilla wax is secreted to inhibit water evaporation, allowing the plant to survive in this harsh environment. Candelilla wax can be harvested year-round. It has an excellent luster, is resistant to temperature changes, and is difficult to break, making it a popular base material for cosmetics such as lip balms and lipsticks
Characteristics of the plant (candelilla)

The stems, 5-10mm in diameter and 15-100cm long, emerge from an underground rhizome and are almost leafless. They form small bushes, with grayish-green trunks thinly covered in wax. The Euphorbia genus, including candelilla, is protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) as it is in danger of extinction unless trade is regulated (CITES Appendix II). While permits and certificates required by CITES are required for the import and export of candelilla wax raw materials and products containing it, its high quality continues to drive continued use
