Japan wax production resumes at Tsurukame Kita Factory
The predecessor of our factory was the prestigious Kita Wax Factory, founded in 1919 in Nagahama, Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture. The company went out of business in 2012, but our company president, Taizo Noda, believed that "for the future development of the wood wax industry, we must never let good rivals die out," so he bought the company regardless of profit and loss and resumed production of Japan wax

The Tsurukame Kita Factory is home to Japan's oldest operating smoke tube boiler, which continues to be used carefully using traditional eco-energy production methods, and many curious people from within the prefecture and even Tokyo come to visit
The ash from the wax tree nuts after burning them in the eco-boiler can be used for a newglazeThis has been put to good use through the "Hanabaka Jijii Project," a collaboration with female traditional craftspeople from Kyushu, to create beautiful new colors for tableware
