What is beeswax?
Beeswax is a wax secreted by bees when they build their hives, and is a rare animal wax among natural waxes. It is divided into two types: "high-acid beeswax" secreted by European bees, and "low-acid beeswax" secreted by Asian bees. It is also a wax that has been known since ancient times, and is used in Christian candles and canelés. In ancient Egypt, it was used in mummification due to its excellent preservative properties
